Porta Pia is a gate in the Aurelian Walls (奥勒利安城墙) of Rome. Italy. One of Pope Pius IV's civic improvements to the city, it is named after him. Situated at the end of a new street, the Via Pia, it was designed by Michelangelo in replacement for the Porta Nomentana situated several hundred meters southwards. Opposite the gate, on the external side, at the centre of the piazzale di Porta Pia, is the Monumento al Bersagliere (狙击兵雕象), sculpted in marble and bronze, erected in 1932 by Publio Morbiducci on a commission from Mussolini (墨索里尼).

意大利的狙击兵 (Bersagliere) 属于陆军的精锐步兵部队, 由 Luciano Lamarmora 始建于意大利复兴运动时期, 以团为最大编制单位, 一般配属集团军或军一级, 另外3个装甲师, 2个摩托化师, 3个快速师均配有1个狙击兵团, 在这些摩托化部队中的狙击兵为乘卡车的步兵, 一部分为摩托车部队, 其他的狙击兵部队的机动工具还包括自行车。狙击兵的特征是黑色的军帽及上面的公鸡羽毛 (山地步兵的毡帽上只有一跟羽毛, 还有一个绒球), 在带钢盔或热带木盔时也用同样的羽饰。(http://bbs.chinesewwii.net/archive/index.php?t-2577.html)
